Play Back Radio was founded by era and DJ Tech-Neek in April of 2007.  The thought was to provide an alternative to the current playlist that dominates commercial radio stations.  The site is updated weekly with shows that feature local and relatively unknown artists, as well as established underground artists from across the nation.

era has been involved in the San Antonio Hip Hop scene over a decade and founded Alamo City Hip Hop in 1997.  ACHH covered and exhibited graffiti found in and around the city of San Antonio, TX.  era was also 1/3 of Hip Hop group Skyhorse that featured Kwizno Clusaki on production and DJ Klassen on cuts.  Skyhorse disbanded in 2003.  In early 2004, era formed Paint By Numbers with Cros1.  DJ Tech-Neek later joined the group and the trio released the underground classic, "Certified Quality," in 2006.  PBN is currently working on their sophomore album, entitled, "Not For Profit."  era has also released two mix cd's (era some music i like and i think you will too, pt.1 and pt.2.) and is currently working on an all instrumental EP, entitled, "Cutting Floor Beats."

DJ Tech-Neek is a San Antonio-based DJ & a member of one of the most respected crews in Texas, The Prhymemates crew. Tech-Neek started DJing at the age of 16 and has made quite a name for himself in his hometown. Tech-Neek brings a cool breeze of fresh air when he gets on the decks, not only mixing and blending records flawlessly, but never making a set before he actually plays. Not only being the DJ for one of the most well known Hip-Hop groups in San Antonio “Paint By Numbers,” but also setting a mark as an artist himself releasing three successful mix CD’s, being featured on wax on two different releases by San Antonio MC LouieDollars, being a co-head liner on the Cannon Ball Jones Tour, laying kuts on countless artists’ projects, and well-known as one of the Top Hip-Hop DJs in the city of San Antonio.
